8 billion kroons which accounted for 2.16% of the total volume of Estonia's foreign trade. The United Kingdom is one of Estonia's major economic partners. In recent years the UK has constantly been one of Estonia's most important trade partners positioning among top 10 countries. The United Kingdom is also rated as the 9th largest foreign direct investor into Estonia. In 2004, Estonian exports to the UK made up 3, 6% of the total export and among Estonia's export partners the UK placed 8th. Estonian imports from the UK totalled 2.2% and it gave the UK the 11th place among Estonia's import partners. The cultural relations between Estonia and English speaking countries are also active. It is of course said that the direction of the culture is towards Estonia, meaning that the American version of lifestyle tends to suppress the Estonian way of living. It is easy to notice. For instance much more American films are shown in Estonia, than Estonian films in the United States

number two of long jump, as the 8,95 of Mike Powell didn't give him any chance though e reached the measure of 8,91 (windy)! And so finished his record of victories in a row: 65. In 1992 Carl prepared the Olympic games but a strange thyroid's problem made him become weaker during trials and failed the qualifications in the 100 m and 200 m. So he had just the time to beat Powell for three centimeters (but with a set of jumps rather better) and win 4x100 relay achieving the 8th gold medal in the Olympic games. Then the last years before the Olympic games of Atlanta showed his poorest figures of the career. At Stuttgart he's third in 200 m and 4th in 100 m (he lost, in that season, all the races on 100 m). His apparitions are few and an injury, in 1995, avoided to get a strong defeat at Goeteborg. Meanwhile he's protagonist of successful spots for Pirelli and Citroen. Carl didn't want to effort his body in order to save it for the Olympic games of 1996

Britain in everyday life, the names are used to mean the United Kingdom. The English Channel (and best known: the Strait of Dover) separate Britain from mainland Europe and its closest neighboring country France. 3. History Great Britain has a long and interesting history stretching back millennia's. The Iberians brought their metal working skills and the first real civilization to Britain in the 3rd millennium B.C. And were then overrun by the various Celtic tribes that begun in the 8th century B.C. The Celts introduced the tribal organization and an early form of agriculture before they were forced westwards to Cornwall, where the Celtic language still exists in different forms, by the Roman invasion begun in 43. AD. The Romans ruled Britain for over two hundred years and left behind three things of importance: their roads, the sights of important cities notably London, and the seeds of Christianity.

These holy men and the people who followed them are known as Celtic Christians. When the king of Northumbria decided to support the Roman Church, the Celtic Church retreated. So England became Christian very quickly. By 660 only Sussex & the Isle of Wight had not accepted the new faith. Latin became the language of the Church. From the end of the 8th cent. and during the 9th & 10th centuries Western Europe was attacked by new barbarians who came from the North Norway, Sweden & Denmark and were called Northmen. In different countries they were known as the Vikings, the Normans, the Danes. As England was more often raided from Denmark, the new invaders came to be known in English history as the Danes, the Norwegians invaded Ireland & Scotland. Doing my research work I learned that almost every student of Oskar Luts Palamuse Gymnasium forms 8.-12. uses English words and phrases while speaking Estonian. Only one person speaks his native language without any English words. It was also found out that the students questioned understand the influence of using a foreign language on their mother tongue. To gather the necessary data a survey was carried out among Oskar Luts Palamuse Gymnasium 8th to 12th grade students. The students´ answers to the questionnaire were almost as expected, so the author of the paper is pleased with the results and learned to analyse information gathered via a questionnaire. 17 KASUTATUD KIRJANDUS Erelt T., Need rasked võõrsõnad, URL: http://www.eki.ee/keeleabi/artiklid3/voorsonad.html(14.03.2017) Leemets T

as "Alba" or "Scotland". The development of "Pictland", according to the historical model developed by Peter Heather, was a natural response to Roman imperialism. Another view places emphasis on the Battle of Dunnichen, and the reign of Bridei m. Beli (671693), with another period of consolidation in the reign of engus mac Fergusa (732761). The Kingdom of the Picts as it was in the early 8th century, when Bede was writing, was largely the same as the kingdom of the Scots in the reign of Alexander (11071124). However, by the tenth century, the Pictish kingdom was dominated by what we can recognise as Gaelic culture, and had developed an Irish conquest myth around the ancestor of the contemporary royal dynasty, Cined mac Ailpn (Kenneth MacAlpin). From a base of territory in eastern Scotland north of the River Forth and south of the River Oykel, the kingdom acquired

An even more challenging bar is that your executive summary be self-supporting and that a reader can understand what you accomplished at a top level just by reading the executive summary. Writing Level Technical writing must communicate information clearly, effectively and succinctly. The language must not be excessive or complex and any company-specific jargon must be defined. Typically you write at an 8th grade level. This does not mean that you are dumbing down your engineering, but rather means that you are sticking to plain writing. Engineering writing is also fact-based, so be sure to back up any assertions you make using credible sources. Separating Ideas Divide your information up into small, manageable chunks and use headings to categorize the information so people can easily find it. Include only one idea in each

Later in the 5th century, Anglo-Saxons settled just west of Londinium, around the Strand, and formed the town of Lundenwic. The Vikings 8th and 9th century By the 9th century, London was a very prosperous trading centre, and its wealth attracted the attention of Danish Vikings. They were the first to produce paper books after they learnt papermaking from the Chinese in the 8th century. Particular skills were developed for script writing (Arabic calligraphy), miniatures and bookbinding. The people who worked in making books were called Warraqin or paper professionals. The Arabs made books lighter--sewn with silk and bound with leather covered paste boards, they had a flap that wrapped the book up when not in use. As paper was less reactive to humidity, the heavy boards were not needed. The production of books became a real industry and

The Witch Trials in Salem

Commonly, the accused was stripped naked and shaved of all her body hair, then subjected to thumb-screws and the rack, spikes and bone- crushing ,,boots," starvation and beatings. The point is obvious: The witch-craze did not arise spontaneously in the peasantry. It was a calculated ruling class campaign of terrorization. The Church and European society were not always so zealous in hunting witches or blaming them for bad occurrences. Saint Boniface declared in the 8th century that belief in the existence of witches was un-Christian. The emperor Charlemagne decreed that the burning of supposed witches was a pagan custom that would be punished by the death penalty. In 820 the Bishop of Lyon and 2 others repudiated the belief that witches could make bad weather, fly in the night, and change their shape. This denial was accepted into Canon law until it was reversed in later centuries as the witch-

reason for its exclusion on the Union Jack. St. George's Cross, as an emblem, can be traced back to the 14 th century, when in 1348 Edward III made St. George the patron saint of the Order of the Garter. Later, after the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, Henry V ordered all soldiers siding with the English in military action to wear a band of St. George. The earliest reference to the distinct Saltire (diagonal) Cross of St. Andrew is claimed to date from the 8th century, while its colours evolved four centuries later, in the 12th century. Regarding the Cross of St. Patrick (Northern Ireland), it has been suggested that the red saltire originated from the arms of the Geraldines, one of the influential Anglo- Irish families sent to Ireland to represent Henry II of England. The Cross, which appeared in the 16th century, had a prominent place in their arms. The creation

Education

I hear of some children who watch excessive television, or who never do any school homework, or are technical wizards yet know nothing of getting their hands dirty outside playing. Even as we must vary the curriculum for the sake of the mind, we must vary it with the ideal seasons and age levels of students. At what developmental stage children should be exposed to various subjects is wholly unfamiliar to me. I recall my love of art in the 3rd grade, of science in 8th grade, of comparative literature in 11th grade. Probably each student learns at an individual pace, and has personal likes and dislikes, yet overall some fair generalizations can be made about what approach usually works best for most children at various ages. Education for adults is so much different. Almost all of my teaching has been directed to adults. I've dealt with preschoolers, elementary and junior high school kids exclusively in my

The main purpose of this research is to find out the connections between pupils' age and reading habits. To make broader conclusions, not only books, but also Internet-based media, newspapers and other periodicals are considered. To collect the necessary data, a questionnaire was conducted among pupils of the 5th, 8th and 11th grade, the aim of which was to get a diverse and detailed overview of reading habits. During the analysis, boys' and girls' answers were separated. The results and conclusions were very interesting and informative, showing a good correlation between pupils' age and their reading habits. The analysis of reading newspapers and Internet-based media showed that pupils at different ages are almost equally interested in news varying only in the level of thoroughness: older pupils
