Summary Britta Kase

Britta Kase 143123HAKB Summary The booklet offers a brief, simple explanation how the European Union is relevant to us in our everyday life, how it affects our lives in many areas and how can we benefit from it. The booklet gives also a very readable overview of EU’s history and how its member states have come together. It’s a great starting point to know the roots, history and functioning of the European Union. I found this booklet interesting because it provides an insight into relevance of the EU. I have never thought that making phone calls and flying has become cheaper as a result of EU. EU has abolished national monopolies and has permitted competition. For me the most important thing is air, water and food quality. The EU has introduced c...

Am I going to marry

Am I going to marry Marriage (or wedlock) is a social union or legal contract between people that creates kinship. For me, marriage is a very important event it makes people care about each other more and understand each other better. I have thought about it to marry in distant future. But before is needed to finish the school. It is not enough, because be some time before that to live together. Must also find a good and rewarding job, because weddings arevery expensive at this time. But if two peoples want to get married then money is not an obstacle. True love can not compare with money and it does not have possible to buy with money.

Beispiel: ""Europanto, esse very facile und mucho fun!". Man findet viel einfacher Jobs.

Tallinn

Tallinn Tallinn is situated on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland, in north-western Estonia. A limestone cliff runs through the city. It is exposed, for instance, at Toompea and Lasnamäe. However, Toompea is not a part of the cliff, but a separate hill. Coastline is 46 kilometres long. The highest point of Tallinn, at 64 meters above the sea level, is situated in the district of Nõmme, in the south-west of the city. The first human steps, that archeologists found, are about 5000 years old. Tallinn`s first fortress was built in Toompea, in 1050. As an important port for trade between Russia and Scandinavia, it became a target for the expansion of the Teutonic Knights and the Kingdom of Denmark during the period of Northern Crusades in the beginning of the 13th century when Christianity was forcibly imposed on the local population. Danish rule of Tallinn and Northern Estonia started in 1219. In 1285...

Analysis of the Journal

Analysis of the Journal Link to the online journal: http://www.efsa.europa.eu/en/publications/efsajournal.htm The EFSA Journal is an scientific journal that is published by the European Food Safety Authority. The journal gives an information about the risks that are associated with the food chain. This journal is peer-reviewed and has an open access. The articles are in PDF form, written in English. On top of that it is free of charge. The advantage of the webpage is that it is easy to navigate. Also, there is no advertisement included. Furthermore, the information is reliable because the EFSA is an agency of the European Union. The authors of the articles are researchers and experts from all over Europe. In my opinion, it is a good online journal to get a quick view on the most important topics of food sciences.

RAADIOLAINED Kõik elektromagnetlained levivad valguse kiirusel ehk c = 300 000 km/s. Ümber maakera tiiru tegemiseks (Maa ümbermõõt ekvaatoril on 40 000 km) kulub neil vähem kui 0,2 sekundit. Elektromagnetlainete omadused sõltuvad nende lainepikkusest. Lainepikkuseks nimetatakse vahemaad kahe laineharja vahel. Raadiolained on elektromagnetlainetest kõige suur...

Estonia topic

Introduction Estonia, officially the Republic of Estonia (Estonian: Eesti or Eesti Vabariik) is a country in the Baltic region of Northern Europe. It is bordered to the north by Finland across the Gulf of Finland, to the west by Sweden across the Baltic Sea, to the south by Latvia (343 km), and to the east by the Russian Federation (338,6 km). The territory of Estonia covers 45,227 km² and is influenced by a temperate seasonal climate. The Estonians are a Finnic people closely related to the Finns, with the Estonian language sharing many similarities to Finnish. The modern name of Estonia is thought to originate from the Roman historian Tacitus, who in his book Germania (ca. AD 98) described a people called the Aestii. Similarly, ancient Scandinavian sagas refer to a land called Eistland, close to the German term Estland for the country. Early Latin and other ancient versions of the name are Estia and Hestia. Schotland

Scotlan History The history of Scotland begins around 10,000 years ago, when humans first began to inhabit Scotland after the end of the Devensian glaciation, the last ice age. Of the Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age civilization that existed in the country, many artifacts remain, but few written records were left behind.People lived in Scotland for at least 8,500 years before recorded history dealt with Britain. The written history of Scotland largely begins with the arrival of the Roman Empire in Britain, when the Romans occupied what is now England and Wales, administering it as a Roman province called Britannia. To the north was territory not governed by the Romans -- Caledonia, by name. Its people were the Picts. From a classical historical viewpoint Scotland seemed a peripheral country, slow to gain advances filtering out from the Mediterranean fount of civilisation, but as knowledge of the past incr...

DC at The Melrose Georgetown

DC at The Melrose Georgetown Check in The hotel is a couple of blocks from Foggy Bottom - GWU Metro station, on the blue and orange lines. If you are coming from Union Station you have to change once, at Metro Center, from the red line. But once we arrived, check-in was quick and easy. Within two minutes of walking through the lobby, we were in our room. Internet Connection Free and couldn't be easier to hop on: no password or sign-up required. Location The hotel is very accessible via public transportation, and, probably thanks to its college community, you'll find plenty of restaurants and bars in the immediate area. If eating out's not your thing, there is both a Trader Joe's and Whole Foods within two blocks, too. What We Didn't Like The cracked and stained tiles in the shower suggest that the bathrooms got passed over during the recent renovation, and we'd have preferred to not have seen short black hairs (not ours) ...

Victorian life - Briti ajalugu

15. Victorian times Life and conditions of Victorian people Children were expected to help towards the family budget. They often worked long hours in dangerous jobs and in difficult situations for a very little wage. For example, there were the climbing boys employed by the chimney sweeps; boys and girls working down the coal mines, crawling through tunnels too narrow and low to take an adult. Some children worked as errand boys, crossing sweepers, shoe blacks, and they sold matches, flowers and other cheap goods. During the Victorian era, the population grew immensely. At the end of 19th century the population had grown three times bigger in Great Britain! That made wages much lower, because more people were looking for jobs. Many people couldn't afford places to live and had to live on the streets. Slums started appearing in bigger towns. Crime rate was also rising because of this: many homeless child...
