Letter to Kate

Your pen friend Kate wants to know your views on the film @The Secret@. Write a letter about: · What is the film about, what do you think about it · Did you get any valuable ideas. Give examples. · Would you recommend it to others? Why? · Add no address. + 120 words Dear Kate, I haven't heard anything about you for ages! How are you? What you've done during the three weeks after Christmas holidays? Well, I've been to school for all those weeks. Last week we watched a really interesting film. The film was about secrets in our Universe. It made me feel more self- confident and I realized that the World is about me and what I want, not about what I will never archive or never get, because if I really want something and work for it, I know I will get what I want. Well, at least some of it. My view of life has changed completely. You definitely should watch it. It's educational and interesting at the s...

Discription of classmate

Discription of my classsmate Ever since I first met my admirable friend Kristy on-holiday camp several years ago, she has been my favourite, irreplaceable companion. The first thing you notice about her, are her blue eyes, small upturned nose and large sensuous mouth, which make her face very photogenic. At first glance you can also see her long, blond hair, as well as slender body which make her look really amazing. As a rule she enjoys wearing atypical clothes. The most characteristic thing about Kristy is her unprecedented sense of humour. It is rare to cheer everybody up in different situations, yet she always manages to do it. Moreover, she is the life and soul of a party, which makes her extremely sociable. Pointing out her tendency to be incredibly precise and insistance an perfection. Some people claim she may seem quick-tempered but in reality deep down, she is really an amiable person. Kristy has a very unpred...

Friends and Friendship I have several friends. But my best friend is Anette. Anette is a little younger than i am- 14. I first met Anette when i was 8 years old, but we didnt become friends at first. Our fathers used to work together, so we first met each other in my fathers office. We became friends about 3 years ago, when Anette came to my traning group. It had been 3 years since we last saw each other so i didnt recognize her at first, and Anette did not recognize me either. So we bacame true friends without knowing that we had known each other for many years already. We found out that our fathers are friends about two yeas ago, when they met each other in one of our competitons and later asked us if we knew that they used to work together. The thing I most like about Anette is her character. Our characters just fit together and we have almost nerver been in a fight. Anette is that kind of girl who ...

What are the most needed professions in the 21st century?

What are the most needed professions in the 21st century? People are often asking me what are the most needed professions in the 21st century. I've understood that in Estonia we need mostly newer professions, the ones that are connected with computers. In my opinion one of the most needed professions is a doctor. I know we have a lot of doctors, but a lot of them go to a foreign country. Mostly because of the low salary in Estonia. In my opinion the second most needed profession is a really good goverment employee. Estonians want some changes in their lives. Our goverment employees only think about earning more money. The third most needed professions is actually needed the most, it's connected with computers, as I first mentioned. More growing computer using and replacing jobs with robots and computer programmes leave some people without jobs. That's why people need to know more and more about computers. Companies nee...

To like and dislike the same things, that is indeed true friendship

"To like and dislike the same things, that is indeed true friendship" Friendship is based on many things. You have to have trust, respect, humour and many other things with the person so he or she could become a good friend. But maybe one of the most important things is to have something in common. When I think about my best friends then I can really see how much we have in common. We very often think the same about life, things and people. We share very many viewpoints and agree on so many things. There is always something to talk about and fun never ends. It's sometimes great to have somebody who shares your ideas. Then you know that you are not alone and you can complain to someone who really understands. On the other hand, I can also see, when looking at my friendships, that having the same ideas and thoughts can sometimes be disturbing and boring. I like to be different. I like to have my own...

Jane Eyre

Jane Eyre I decided to read the book Jane Eyre. Jane Eyre was an orphan who lived with Mrs. Reed, her cruel, wealthy aunt. Only a servant named Bessie was gind to Jane, who told her stories and sang songs to her. One day, Jane’s cousin John Reed bullied Jane and Jane got mad. They were caught fighting and Jane aunt, imprisoned Jane into the red room, were Jane’s uncle had died. Jane was really scared of that room because, she believed that her uncle’s ghost was still in there. In the room Jane was screaming and so scared that she fainted. When she waked up, Mrs. Reed decided to send Jane to the Lowood School, Jane was also happy to leave. When Jane arrived to the school she found out that her life was better in her aunt house than in that school. The school’s headmaster was Mr. Brocklehurst, a cruel, hypocritical, and abusive man, who treated the students really bad. In school Jane found a frie...

Review : The importance of being earnest The play is directed by Peter Joucla and the producer is Grantly Marshall . The play itself is written by Oscar Wilde . Jack looks like an ordinary guy from the countryside who pretends to have a brother in London whose name is Ernest . Actually his friends in London know him as Ernest and in the country as Jack. Jack was caught by his best friend Algernon who found his cigar box , in which the name Ernest had been written . Algernon also created himself an imaginary friend called Bunbury. The reason is to have an opportunity to escape from the countryside social life to the city . Things turn bad when Jack falls in love with Gwendolyn who has an obsession to marry with a guy whose name is Ernest. Credit cards - a blessing or a curse

Owning a credit card can be a very great thing. Whether buying things online, booking tickets or a hotel room or just needing some emergency cash, having a credit card can be really helpful. However, getting a credit card is also a huge responsibility and if you do not keep an eye on your spendings, you may get into some serious trouble. That raises a question- are credit cards a blessing or a curse? On one hand, credit cards are comfortable and easy to use and they can make buying things much less stressful, because you do not have to carry along huge amounts of cash. Besides, credit cards are really useful in situations where you have an emergency in which you need to buy something, but you just do not have cash with you at the moment. By using a credit card, you can get the thing you need and do not have to worry about money until later. On the other hand, to have a credit card might create a big problem if you do not control your ...

Movie review

Dear John movie review Dear John is a romantic drama. It was released on February 5, 2010. The film was directed by Lasse Hallström and it is a movie made from a book from Nicholas Sparks novel of the same name. The key of the movie were love, war, loss, forgiveness. I liked the actors very much. The actors were Amanda Seyfried as Savannah and Channing Tatum as John. I liked Seyfried before I saw that movie, because she can play different roles and I believe her. She is a really good actor, not like most of the Hollywood actors. Tatum I saw acting the first time but I liked him too. They were really good together. Seyfried played a rich Southern girl who doesn't drink, doesn't do drugs and is spending her spring rebuilding houses for the poor people. Tatum plays a guy from Army who meets Savannah in the beach when Savannah lost her bag into the sea and John goes after that bag. I liked all the...

Teenagers

Hi, well my topic of this presentation is teenage girls. I chose this topic because I really like to discuss about the life of a teenage girls and what is it really about? And why only girls? The answer is close to why scientists investigate the big mysterios space. We all want to know the secret of infinite mystery. And why only girls? That part is actually quite easy, Cause every teenage girl edventually will come to that point of her little teenage life where they just get sick of boys. I think girls are pretty much the biggest question to all teenagers and why just to teenagers? Answer to that question you will get while growing up. Well at least I think so. And now some more specifics about teenage girls. There are all kind of teenage girls. Well, for exempel the ones who think that being a teenage girl is all about boys, drugs and alcohol, then there are ofcourse those sissy girls and neards, plus there are the ones who live THE mo...

Speech on Fast developing technology

Good afternoon! My name is Egert and... ...Today I'm here to talk about advantages and disadvantages of fast development of modern technology. I think we all have noticed that almost every day there are new technology achievements at the stores. Whether we like it or not, it improves in every second, in every minute. New Apple iPhones, iPads and other i-devices are everywhere. Even tractors have a built-in computer in them. So, is it a blessing or a curse? I'm sure that most of you think it's a blessing. Do you? We like our comfortable lives, we like it when everything has been done for us already. We want to have the newest mobile phones and best cars to show off and be better than our friends. However, it can make people selfish and egoistic. They want more and more and more. In the past 10 years modern technology has improved so fast that it is clearly visible when we compare technology in the years 2002 ...

Looks - how important

Looks how important? Look is quality, which guarantees us first impression of everything. If we can see a repulsive object, then we would not like to know more about it. Conversely looking object makes us feel different. Is look really so important? Why can´t we be ourselves although our look might be different from the view from the streets? I personally love to be myself. I love to feel comfort, that I create with clothes, that I wear. I get my hair cut if it limits my view. Although my thoughts I am pushed by my comrades. If I dressed in public as I dress at home, I would definitely be stared! I am not the one, who makes the rules, I follow them! My friends might still know who I really am, but making new friends is difficult or even impossible because of my own "freestyle". Taking care of look belongs to grown-up behavior! Luckily of unfortunately is look the base of communication, servicing and relat...

Pros and cons of sports

Pros and cons of sports I'm going to talk about advantages and disadvantages of sports. There are several really good reasons why to do sports but always there is something negative in every good thing you have to take into account. On the one hand, sports are really good for your health. Sporting keeps you fit and gives you dicipline. People who do not sport regularly have more illnesses and tend to be overweight. Also, doing sports even extends life and help reduce the feelings of sadness and depression. In addition to that, sporting keeps children busy. Nowadays a lot of kids tend to stupid things at their spare time so when they are doing anykind of sports it keeps them out of trouble and even away from TV and video games, that have really bad influence on their eyes, student achievement and may make them violent. Sport boosts their self confident, motivation and responsibility as well. If childern ar...

All the world's a puzzle;arutlev kirjand

All the world's a puzzle All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts, His acts being seven ages. At first, the infant, Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms. Then the whining schoolboy, with his satchel And shining morning face, creeping like snail Unwillingly to school. And then the lover, Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier, Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard, Jealous in honor, sudden and quick in quarrel, Seeking the bubble reputation Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice, In fair round belly with good capon lined, With eyes severe and beard of formal cut, Full of wise saws and modern instances; And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts Into the lean and slippered pantaloon, With spectacles on nose and pouch on...

The best things in life are free

The best things in life are free Obviously money is important in our lives. Without it we'd have no home to live in, no food to eat and no clothes to wear. Earning a lot of money is the goal of people in their lives. But even if you have millions of dollars, there are some things that you'll never have with money. Many people are born with a some kind of talent. Money can certainly advance your skills by buying music lessons or coaching sessions, but money cannot buy a talent. People can learn to do certain things well by taking lessons but the true gift to do it well can't be bought. Even after years of lessons you can't really play piano or sing as well a person who have the real talent from birth. Money doesn't confer good behavior. There are many rich people who are rude and with no manners but also there are plenty of poor people who demonstrate perfect manners and respect for others. The amount of money you have doesn't show if...

We Do Not Inherit the Earth From our Ancestors; We Borrow It From Our Children

We Do Not Inherit the Earth From our Ancestors; We Borrow It From Our Children Some of the people think that the Earth is like something, that we can take and it will grow back like apples every summer on trees. But I do not think it does. I think we borrow it from the future. Firstly we are using too much water nowadays. We are wasting it and not thinking about the future, but we should. Lately the media has started to speak more about the need for clean water, specially in some parts of the Earth. In the past people did not have showers or baths, toilets with water, dishwashers. These and many other things use more water, than people used to. Secondly we are producing a lot more, than we maybe should. It seems like the most meaningful thing nowadays is money. Maybe because of that we are over producing. If we look at the landfills we can see how full they are. I think it is that way because we produce too much and use too mu...

Marriage vs cohabiting

Marriage vs cohabiting If one day marriage was a traditional part of people’s lives than nowadays many people choose cohabitation instead. In my opinion there are upsides and downsides to both marriage and cohabiting. Firstly let’s look at the up- and downsides of marriage. Marriage is a big commitment, so many people tend to be scared of it. They are scared that their marriage will lead to divorce, in which case the parting can turn out to be much more complicated than parting in case of cohabitation. The second problem is that many people just don’t see the point in marrying. And there is also the financial loss of the celebrations and the ring and things like that. I think that one of the upsides of marriage is definitely the promise that people make to eachother when marrying. If they think about that promise while deciding if to part ways or not then it might help them. What’s more when peopl...

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest

He died suddenly and unexpectedly in November 2004, soon after delivering the manuscripts for "the Millennium trilogy". Since his death, Stieg Larsson has been haunting the bestseller list and popular media worldwide. There are many millions of copies of the millennium tilogy that has been sold worldwide. Unfortunately Larsson did not live to see the phenomenon his work has become. Sweden has already produced a trilogy of films based on the novels, and now Hollywood is doing the same. Characters *Lisbeth Salander the headcharacter in the book. She is outsider and apparently enemy of society. The state has ruled that she is mentally unstable and has a trustee to help her manage her duties. Salander doesn't really care what others think of her. ...

Something out of nothing

Something out of nothing. Why do people enjoy making something out of nothing? I believe that it gives us great pleasure to know, that we've made something new and interesting just because we're humans. We like to feel big and important, it's just our nature and we can't help it. For example, many people believe in God. They believe God is always watching over them, so they have to behave, because noone wants to be on the bad side in the eyes of God. And ofcourse everyone wants to go to heaven, so you can't really get on God's nerves, or he'll just send you to hell. The way I see it, God makes all the rules and you can't really argue with him, because he's God. He can do what he wants, that's just the way it is. In my opinion humans want to feel as powerful as God. It makes us feel better about ourselves, if we can make our own rules from time to time. Let's say, that a musician is writing a song. He makes something out of noth...

Skills

Skills+motivation+attitude=success. True or not? Having a special skills in some speciality and having an exellent motivation to reach a certain goal and also having the right attitude, then probably that is enough to succeed alomost in everything. Having a certain goal to reach is never easy but when having all important qualities to work it out it is certainly easier than without trying hard enough. Those three qualities are extremely important for achiving a goal. When you have only one quality of those it is really hard to achive anything but taking two of these qualities would be enough to achive your goal, if you really want it.It would always be better to have all of these qualities, because having all of those qualities would be the best thing to be almost unstoppable. Having the important skills, the best motivation you can think of and the attitude what cannot be crushed, would make anyone unbeatable. I...

How I take attending school seriously

How I take attending school seriously School is a place where every child has to go. It is so because that is the starting point of our education. Without it you would be sust another person in this world because you woun ´t have anything to do especially nowadays. Knowledge is everything. So if we woun´t go to school there is no way to get a step further. I am going to write why I take attending school seriously. First of all I think that when we woun´t go to school for a long periood, it is almost certain that we would be in trouble. If you have been absent for a couple of weeks then it will be very difficult to get all tests and homework done. Firstly you may not know anything about the things that are asked from you. Secondly, some people are sust too lazy to do the tests and because of that students will have very bad marks. If they are unlucky they also must go to school in summer because they have too many things ...

My Mum knows a lot about beauty products because she sells them and buys them. I also use aloe vera gel or some spray that is good for the skin. We don't have any sprays or beauty products that endangere or harm nature so it is safe to use. I don't really belive in the beauty products because it is always better to look like you are.

Letter of complaint

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to complaint about the Grange Health Spa, which I visited. I believe its service was inadequate. To start with, you promised that I will get a luxury suit, but I had really tiny room. Also you promised scenic countryside but I had no view. Moreover, you said that the price is all- inclusive but I had to pay for some things. For example I had to pay for my dinner. What is more, I was disappointed because you said that there are full range of health and diet programmes, but all guests ate the same food and we did not have any healty food at all. In conclusion, I am really disappointed with the Grange Health Spa. I look forward to receiving a prompt reply. Yours faithfully, xxx

Art of Healing: present and future

Art of Healing: present and future Health is very important for people. They try to keep themselves healthy because otherwise they would feel miserable. People watch carefully what they eat and many go to regular check-ups. But still people get ill, even the healthiest people catch a cold sometimes. Nothing can prevent accidents to happen. The people who are ill or some kind of an accident has happened to them need help. Medicine is the science and art of healing. It is a science because it is based on knowledge gained through careful study and experimentation. Medicine develops very quickly. Nowadays the doctors can do almost anything they want. Egyptian doctors began to specialize in 2500 B.C. At that time they were already quite skilful. When a man lost a limb there was a big possibility that he would lose too much blood and die or get a blood poisoning before that time. Now the doctors can ...

Seventeenth summer

Seventeenth Summer was the first novel published by author Maureen Daly in 1942. The book talks about a girl's first experience with dating and falling in love. (A seventeenth year old girl named Angie who falls for the popular boy Jack.) I think this book was really good. But it is a little bit slow book, it does not really have any action in it and it just more of a leisurely book to read. I liked the romance and the character development, I liked the simplistic nature of their love. It made me yearn for respect and honor, modesty and decency. I admire that slow courtship. The book itself I think was not fantastic, but overall, I felt good reading this book because it still had the romantic aspect but with a new approach to it.

We need paper books

WE NEED PAPER BOOKS We really need paper books. Now a days, most of teenagers think that studying by a computers or mobile phones is much more useful, but actually ist's not. A lot of people spend their time at home using a computer, when people start doing it in schools too, they are going to be blind soon, because it affects your eyes. People should really think about their future more. I understand if you are doing some schoolworks on the computer, but definitely not all of those. If you read lots of books, it developes you reading speed and it will be useful if you can read fast and if it sounds nice. Also if you are on the computer all the time, you can't write soon, too. And then the next generation in Estonia is going to be like Africa, that people can't read or write. So we should still use paper books, it's cheaper and much more useful.

Oscar Wilde “The Nightingale and the Rose”

Oscar Wilde "The Nightingale and the Rose" Oscar Wilde was born on 16 October in 1854, he was a successful Irish playwright, novelist, poet and author of short stories. He graduated the Magdalen College. Wilde was sentenced two years in prison that was unkind to his health, after he was released in 1897 he spent his last three years penniless. I read a Oscar Wilde`s fairy tale, it was a bit different of usual fairy tales because it didn't end happily. There was a Student, who loved one girl. This girl was a daughter of the Professor. She had said that she will dance with the Student if he would bring her a red rose. But the problem was that there weren't any red roses growing in his garden and he wept, his face buried in his hands. He was very sad because he can't dance with his love. Fortunately a small bird named Nightingale saw him crying, the bird really ...

Everybody has their dreams and ideas, how they want they're life to be. Right now I am a school student. I'm dancing, playing guitar and just hang out with my friends. I'm in the tenth grade of high-school, so I have only two years to decide what I want to do after graduating. But I think I don't really want to study anything more, I just want to see what the life has for me. The First three years would be the hardest. Maybe I'm going to change my mind, and go to university. But I've got a plan, and a good one. To just slowly start to open my own busyness. Nobody really believes in that, neither do I. Bu...

Pride and Prejudice Book report

Jane Austen "Pride & Prejudice" Pride and Prejudice, first published on 28 January 1813, has consistently been Jane Austen's most popular novel. Austen sold the copyright for Pride and Prejudice to Thomas Egerton. Egerton published the first edition of Pride and Prejudice in three hardcover volumes in January. The tone is light and a little humoristic. Pride and Prejudice is a humorous story of love and life among English gentility. At first the book was called "First impressions" and this gives a better expression to the requests of the author, than the later heading. People meet, do not understand each other and communication does not offer joy either. So this is contrary to love at first sight. It is a tale of love and values in the class-conscious England of the late 18th century. It is a story of five sisters and their lives. It is a story through the dangerous, exciting and loving feelings of the characters. The Bennets five ...

Letter of complain (restaurant)

Dear Sir/Madam, I and my friend visited your restaurant yesterday to celebrate the beginning of our vacation. Unfortunately, the substandard food served in your restaurant really dampened our spirits. Firstly, I ordered salad, but it was not fresh. Furthermore, the vegetables had not been washed. I found pieces of dirt on the lettuce leaves. Then, I was served a really tasteless steak. It was tough and chewy. I called the waiter to bring me new steak. After waiting, the waiter finally came and gave me a new steak. To my astonishment, it was as bad as the first one. As if that was not bad enough, when I decided to eat my apple pie, I found out that it was stale and dry. Once again, I called waiter, but he claimed that it had been freshly made that morning. As you can imagine, I was extremely upset by the treatment I received and I will certainly not visit your restaurant again. I hope that in futu...

Letter Dear Sally, I have also been very busy with my exams recently, so I completely understand what you are going through. I would really like to see you again and it would be very great if you came to see me in August, but unfortunately I have a really important soccer match during that week and I can not miss that so maybe you could come the week before or after. Please let me know as soon as possible because my mum wants to know so she and my father will probably plan a trip to somewhere in order for us to be all alone in the house. My bike actually broke so unfortunately we can’t go cycling but my dad suggested that perhaps we go canoeing. It sounds very fun to me so maybe if you’re intrested we could go try that, but it’s totally OK if you don’t want to, just let me know. So let me know when you could come and if you’re up for canoeing. I’ll be waiting for your reply. Best wishes, Alex ...

Every story is touched and helps me think more about the meanings of life. The Way Home: Alex had a nice husband she went on many trips from time to time. In one of her journeys, she bumped into an attractive man, Stefano. After a nice talk, he asked her to stay at the same hotel and the same room. Review "THE CATCHER IN THE RYE"

"THE CATCHER IN THE RYE" Review 2018 "Don't ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody." J.D. Salinger Book is read. I'm very pleased to report that I joined the group of people who have already read "The catcher in the rye". Many people have mentioned this story in some conversations and lots of quotes in Internet contain "J.D.Salinder" in the end of it, therefore I was really excited when we decided to read this book as a part of our English lesson course. It was very good way for English skills practice and also self- liberalizing. I think many teenagers would be able to relate the book to the actual themes - it's a modern classic of today. Every teeneager has had once felt himself sort of depressed and upset. It is absolutely normal state for identity formation. We mature, we become adults, we revise our ...

Computer is man's best friend.

Computer is Man's Best Friend Nowadays computers have a big part in our everyday life. It is difficult to imagine our lives without them. Unfortunately the development of technology has changed people's priorities too much. Instead of being with their loved ones, people spend more and more time in front of the computer. Has computer really become man's new best friend? On the one hand, computer can be really useful in many circumstances. For example, thanks to computers people can do their job more easily and faster, search information they need or just find out what is happening in the world in general. On the other hand, by spending too much time in front of the computer people tend to waist a lot of time. Because of the fact that Internet is full of various entertainments, people lose sense of time. It may also seem that virtual life is more interesting than the real one. Although com...

CD review

CD review A CD I recently listened was A rush of blood to the head by a band called Coldplay. They are an alternative rock band formed in London, England on 16 January 1998. The group comprises vocalist/pianist/guitarist Chris Martin, lead guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman and drummer/multi-instrumentalist Will Champion. Being their second album, A rush of blood to the head was released in 2002. The album has several popular singles such as "In My Place", "Clocks", and the ballad "The Scientist." It also won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album at the 2003 Grammy Awards. This is my favourite CD, because you forget everything that surrounds you while you listen to it. Chris martin has a powerful voice and the overall sound is flawless. The songs contain lush melodies and they are really relaxing. The band's music is also meditative and it reflects ...
