Ten years after the death of Rudolf Tobias. Dr. Hermann Kretzschmar, the Rector of Königliche Hochschule für Musik, after becoming acquainted with the oratorio said that from the time of J.S. Bach to the present (1912) there was no other powerful composition in the given genre. Thanks to his oratorio Tobias was accepted as a temporary lecturer on music theory at the Hochschule in 1912.
