The Queen movie was uninteresting at first, but when I delved into the movie it got very interesting. The Queen was about Queen Elizabeth II reaction to the death of Princess Diana. Film was based on actual events and included a lot of tragedy, emotions and sadness.
Just as Tony Blair was moving into 10 Downing Street, Princess Diana died in a Paris car wreck. England went into traumatized mourning deeper than anyone could have predicted. On the contrary, the royal family — Diana’s estranged former inlaws — offered no public reaction at all. ...

Arvustus "The Queen"

"The people´s princess" 31 August 1997. I guess that almost everyone knows how dramatic that date was. England lost the princess who should become the Queen- but all went wrong. The film took place in United Kingdom and it talked about the Royal Family. At the beginning of the film Tony Blair was appointed as the United Kingdom´s prime minister. Blair visited Buckingham Palace to meet the Queen Elizabeth. Three months later princess Diana, the Queen Elizabeth´s daughter, had a car accident in Paris- she died. Blair gave the speech in which Diana was described as "the people´s princess". All the people in England were in shock and in tears. The country was in deep grief. Since Diana was divorced from her husband Charles, she was no longer a part of the Royal Family. At first, Elizabeth insisted that the funeral must be private. Eventually she changed her mind and she agreed to bring Diana´s body back to England

demise. Charles resumed his old, pre-marital affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles. During the Panorama television interview, shown on 20 November 1995, Diana confirmed she had an affair with her riding instructor, James Hewitt. In October 1993 Diana wrote to a friend that she believed her husband was now in love with Tiggy Legge-Bourke and wanted to marry her. On 20 December 1995, Buckingham Palace publicly announced the Queen had sent letters to Charles and Diana advising them to divorce. Prince Charles immediately agreed with the suggestion. In February Diana announced her agreement. The divorce was finalised on 28 August 1996. Charles and his family gave Diana £ 17 million. She was allowed to keep her jewellery, including personal gifts to Diana. She remained the bearer of the three Orders which Queen Elizabeth had lent her. Her office where she organised her charitable work was supported by £300

Diana, Walesi printsess (The Princess of Wales)

cleaning work for her sister Sarah and several of her friends, and worked as a hostess at parties. MARRIAGE Prince Charles had known Diana for several years, but he first took a serious interest in her as a potential bride during the summer of 1980, when they were guests at a country weekend, where she watched him play polo. The relationship developed as he invited her for a sailing weekend to Cowes, followed by an invitation to meet his family. There, Diana was well received by Queen Elizabeth II, by Prince Philip, and by the Queen Mother. The Prince proposed on 6 February 1981, and Diana accepted, but their engagement was kept secret for the next few weeks. Their engagement became official on the 24 th of February in 1981, after Diana selected a large ring consisting of 14 diamonds, similar to her mother's engagement ring. 20-year-old Diana became The Princess of Wales when she married Charles. She did not say that

names and faces, the line of succession to the throne, and even the family's rarely- used last name. But let's start from the beginning. The House of Windsor is the reigning royal house of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. The dynasty is of German paternal descent and was originally a branch of the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, itself derived from the House of Wettin, which succeeded the House of Hanover to the British monarchy following the death of Queen Victoria, wife of Albert, Prince Consort. The name was changed from Saxe-Coburg and Gotha to the English Windsor (from "Windsor Castle"[1]) in 1917 because of anti-German sentiment in the British Empire during World War I.[2] There have been four British monarchs of the house of Windsor to date: three kings and the present queen, Elizabeth II. During the reign of the Windsors, major changes took place in British society. The British Empire participated

in 1963. Princess Margaret was also a fan of jazz and would sometimes visit Ronnie Scott's club in Soho. Queen Elizabeth II: Lady Gaga The Queen is not reported to be much of a music fan (Bach aside) although she did smile on meeting Lady Gaga following the Royal Variety Performance in 2009 in Blackpool. Duke Of Edinburgh: Tom Jones The famously tactful Duke of Edinburgh said to Tom Jones after his Royal Variety Performance in 1969: "What do you gargle with, pebbles?". He later added: "It is very difficult at all to see how it is possible to become immensely valuable by singing what I think are the most hideous songs
