About a boy About a Boy is a 2002 British-American comedy-drama film co-written and directed by brothers Chris Weitz and Paul Weitz. It is an adaptation of the 1998 novel of the same name by Nick Hornby. The film stars Hugh Grant, Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette, and Rachel Weisz. This film talks about a guy called Will Freeman. He has good job, nice house and car.But he hasn´t sustained girlfriend. He dates with many women. One day he comes across the idea that dating single moms meets will fix his problems. Then he joins with SPAT, there are single parents. Then he meets a beautful woman there. She has 2 year old son. She comes to dating with her son and and 12 year old boy called Marcus. Marcus lives with her mother Fiona. He was bullied in school by others students

A shuttle is used as a background in the fourth chapter. It has small narrow corridors and the walls of the rooms were carpeted as floors. The importance of the shuttle is that Ender learned something about orientation in zero gravity and that knowledge helped him a lot later. He has his own view on everything. Also, he is a bit absentminded and that irritates mostly everyone he speaks to. His son, Freddie, also appears a lot in the text. Freddie is a go-getter and is not afraid of almost anything barring old Lord Emsworth himself. Lord Emsworth tries to get him to leave Blandings Castle whenever possible. Another one of the main characters is the gardener Angus McAllister. He is a grumpy Scot, who cares very much about his gardens. He is very moody and at one point has Lord Emsworth under his paw. 1) The custody of the pumpkin: Main theme in there is the Pumpkin contest, which Lord Emsworth very much wants to win. Also, Freddie, who usually is not in the castle, is there and is flirting with McAllister's niece from America, without Lord Emsworth knowing it. Lord Emsworth would probably not allow that kind of relationship because due to his beliefs he wants Freddie to marry

The most interesting style was modernist combined with realism. The most interesting writer of this period was John Dos Passos 1896-1970. He is linked to the 1930's, the period of fear, unemployment, the rise of facism, market crashing. Came from an interesting background, grandfather was portugese, his mother came from puritan New England. Father was a lawyer and importand figure on wall street. He was born into a well off family and this is a paradox about him. Upper middle class family, yet his political views were very radical, he was extremely well educated. He was hostile against the social order in the usa. The central theme in his writings is the criticism of basic institutions of american society. Interestingly, he wasnt just a social critic but one of the best experimentalists. Anti war novel called ,,Three soldiers". Dos Passos went to Europe, served for a while. Three main characters, three young soldiers
behaves even more cruelly and abusively toward Heathcliff. Eventually, Catherine's desire for social advancement prompts her to become engaged to Edgar Linton, despite her overpowering love for Heathcliff. Heathcliff runs away from Wuthering Heights, staying away for three years, and returning shortly after Catherine and Edgar's marriage. When Heathcliff returns, he immediately sets about seeking revenge on all who have wronged him. Having come into a vast and mysterious wealth, he deviously lends money to the drunken Hindley, knowing that Hindley will increase his debts and fall into deeper despondency. When Hindley dies, Heathcliff inherits the manor. He also places himself in line to inherit Thrushcross Grange by marrying Isabella Linton, whom he treats very cruelly. Catherine becomes ill, gives birth to a daughter, and dies.
