FOOTBALL

FOOTBALL also known as soccer/association football… ... is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players with a spherical ball. It is played by 250 million players in over 200 countries, making it the world's most popular sport. The game is played on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The object of the game is to score by getting the ball into the opposing goal. The goalkeepers are the only players allowed to touch the ball with their hands or arms while it is in play and only in their penalty area. Other players mainly use their feet to strike or pass the ball, but may also use their head or torso. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. If the score is level at the end of the game, either a draw is declared or the game goes into extra time or a penalty shootout depending on the format of the competition.

tion. Since almost a decade has gone by since the second edition was launched, the ideas in that volume have been strenuously tested in a number of story-making labora tories around the world. Concepts I had developed as a story consultant for the Disney company and as a teacher of story construction have been through a fresh battery of challenges in the real world that I hope have made them stronger. T h e new chapters of this book will, I hope, reflect some of the ideas that have continued to evolve around the Hero's Journey concept. ..And the cars. Jesus Christ. The frenetic flow of tightly packed cars was unlike anything I'd ever seen anywhere. There was always an ambulance, patrol car, or fire engine trying to part the flood of yellow taxis with the electronic wail of ear-splitting sirens. I was in awe of the lumbering garbage trucks that navigated tiny one-way streets and the package delivery drivers who braved the bumper-to-bumper traffic while facing rigid deadlines. Real New Yorkers cruised right through it all, their love for the city as comfortable and familiar as a favorite pair of shoes. They didn't view the steam billowing from potholes and vents in the sidewalks with romantic delight and they didn't blink an eye when the ground vibrated beneath their feet as the subway roared by below, while I grinned like an idiot and flexed my toes. New York was a brand new love affair for me. I was starry-eyed and it showed.

When i was reading that it seemed so real, that i was there to. The city's charms can occasionally be obscured by too many tourists, congested traffic and tacky commercialism. Packed in among thousands of other visitors, trying like crazy to see the city in three days and worrying about getting ripped off, it's not surprising, may think the city is overrated. Fabio Capello

THE REAL FABIO CAPELLO Independent, The (London), Dec 13, 2007 The Italian poised to become the new England manager is an admirer of the Pope and Silvio Berlusconi and praised the 'order' left by General Franco. The FA may be hoping he learns to keep his opinions to himself. By Cahal Milmo A touchline philosopher The blazerati of the Football Association are well known for their dislike of controversy. In the past, rampant publicity over the personal affairs of England managers has done little to endear them to the sport's mandarins. So a disciplined, conservative Italian who attempts to shun the limelight, avoids late nights and socialises outside football circles would appear to be their man. Yesterday, Fabio Capello sat down for talks with FA bosses that are expected to result in him being awarded a multi-million pound contract before Christmas.

Is football better than reading?

IS FOOTBALL BETTER THAN READING Everyone knows that sport and education are very important, but which one is better- football or reading? Gary Lineker said:" Football is a simple game; 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans always win.." Football is quite important for all of us. This is a game of emotions, where everyone can show, who they are supporting. This is a team sport, where all 11 players are involved on every play. Reading is an entertainment, by which we slip, involuntarily, often helplessly, into another's skin, another's voice, another's soul. Reading is also very educating. In my opinion, football is a thousand times better. Playing football improves a team spirit and It also helps to stay fit. So my choice is definitely football.

Computer games - for and against

Nowadays video gaming addiction is fairly common occurence, when kids don't think about anything but playing games on the computer and sacrificing hours upon hours of studying and socializing to play "a few more" rounds. Another bad thing is teen obesity. It's confirmed that the risk being overweight is increased for every hour spent behind the computer. This is caused by lack of physical activity, because people are spending their free time at home, killing terrorists and racing in video game instead of going out and playing football with their friends. People who play computer games for several hours every day frequently have lack of social interaction with people. They don't go outside and socialize with other people, because they need to gain more levels in a game to impress their internet buddies. Although there are a lot of cons to paying computer games, there are also positive sides to it. For example a lot of games help to develop children's mental abilities

children`s active participation both in the Welsh Government and the County and Council of Swansea as they both have regarded the UNCRC on the basis of all its activity. Finally, the Cadle Primary School in Swansea has been used as a case study to investigate the potential change in attitudes in children after the school placed the UNCRC at the heart of its ethos and curriculum across all areas of the school. The primary goal is to critically analyse the commitment of the Cadle towards children`s participation within school and explore the possible spaces created for children that allow them to actively engage with meaningful discussions on the matters that concern them. 3 Introduction Children have `somewhat tenuous relationship to citizenship` as a number of authors interested in children`s citizenship have noted

and many other species of fish and sealife. There are five major Biomes in Canada: Arctic Biomes, Tundras, Taigas, Praeries and Deciduous Forests. The Tundra is located near the Arctic region. It is permafrost and desert-like. The area is very cold and windy. The growing season is 50-60 days. Some of the plants that can survive there are lichens and mosses. Typical animals for the Tundra are musk oxen, elks, moose, lemmings, wolves and foxes. The Taiga biome, also known as coniferous forests is located south of the Tundra region. Taigas are the largest biomes on Earth and they are a major source of oxygen. The Climate there is cold and harsh. Precipitation is low. The growing season is short. Only deciduous trees can grow there since the soil is acidic. Some typical animals are brown bears, foxes, geese, lynxes and moose. Prairies are temperate grassland.
