Paratuberkuloosi võivad haigestuda veised, lambad, kitsed ja mitmed metslooma liigid. Paratuberkuloosi nakatunud loomadel esineb kõhulahtisus, suur kaalulangus, loidus ja produktiivsus väheneb. Umbes 10% krooniliselt nakatunud karjast areneb elujooksul välja haiguse progresseeruv vorm, mis lõppeb looma surmaga.
