A little consideration, a little thought for others makes all the difference

A little consideration, a little thought for others makes all the difference For most of us, it’s our dream from a young age: We want to change the world. We all want to live in clean and a better world. We want to make everyone laugh and happy because it makes us happy. While you are getting older your thought to change the world will disappear. As a teenager you are thinking about your dream job. Maybe you want to be a doctor, a musician or start your own business. They are all very different thoughts but they’re not easy. Big dreams are always difficult. So is changing the world. When you want to change the world, you have to start with yourself. If you change your thinking you will change your feelings. While you are feeling positive it is more easy to change others. You have to be honest with everything and everybody. Do not be afraid to say what you are thinking or feeling. You may regret that what you did not said. Help ot...

The Canterbury tales by Geoffrey Chaucer

Essay based on ,,The General Prologue" by G. Chaucer Geoffrey Chaucer wrote The Canterbury tales at the end of the 14th century. It is a collection of stories where a group of pilgrims have a storytelling contest. All of them are on their way from Southwark to visit the shrine of a holy martyr who had brought health to them when they were ill. Chaucer joined the twenty nine of them in a tavern and started to talk to them. They quickly became friends and then there were thirty. All of the stories and very different characters create a body to the story, which depicts the picture of the English society at that time. Chaucer depicts the knight as a typical hero. In my opinion he is making fun of him because he exaggerates describing his very polite manners and love for chivalry. He says that the knight had fought bravely for their country, was honest, polite and wise and had never in his life lost a battle....

Õie 67A-4 Pärnu, Estonia 80032 April 14, 2008 Dear Jaanika, It's been a while since we last wrote, so I thought I'd drop you a line to bring you up to date with what's been happening here. Actually, right now I'm laying under the palm tree and having a nice vacation at Bahama Island. I've been here for a week already and the time is just flowing by. I'm planning to relax and enjoy my vacation for another 2 weeks. Then I have to fly back home and start to work hard. But as a matter of fact I'm already thinking about my summer plans. I'm kind a sure that it wont be that relaxing at all, because I've thought about some money collecting. So my plans are that the first 2 months I'll mostly spend working. And for the last mont...

Reporti näide

Report on the artists' financial support Aim of the report According to a recent survey, many artists could soon be having some serious money problems as The National Art Association is planning to stop paying a financial support to professional painters and it seems that they can not sell their paintings either. The survey which interviewed over 1000 The National Art Gallery guests was conducted by British Government. It found that guests are not flattered to buy art. Expensive Two out of five thought that it is nonsense to buy a painting. They thought that they can see some art in National Gallery if they want. Half of guests thought that they might buy some paintings if they had some spare money to spend. Unfortunately 90 per cent of them told that they never had any free money. Collectors So one out of ten guests told that they buy paintings frequently. But most of them were actually collectors and only two gue...

Are you experienced- book review

Are you experienced? By William Sutcliffe Have you ever thought about backpackers and what makes them go to such a nerve-racking trip? Or do they regret leaving modern life behind and packing it up to find themselves in 3 rd world countries? I had thought about it before, however newer as thoroughly as William Sutcliffes novel made me think. The author writes about the struggles and triumphs in adjusting to major environmental changes and issues with other travellers that appear in every other backpackers journey. The book is entertaining though it’s full of problems that the 3 rd world has and it highlights them in almost unnoticeable ways. “Are you experienced “ draws attention to food and water problems that are common in India. There were many detailed descriptions of diseases and parasites, they were rather disgusting. Even the thought of the situation where locals can’t drink tap water or they even don’t have running water ...

Victoria Justice Writes Her Own 'Victorious' Ending

Victoria Justice Writes Her Own 'Victorious' Ending Tonight is the night -- the series finale of Victorious. Star Victoria Justice took to Twitter and Tumblr for her own version of how the ending should be. "Hi guys, as most of you know by now, tonight is the final episode of Victorious. In honor of this I thought I'd write a letter about my journey on Nickelodeon and most of all my gratitude to all of you. "It all started when I was twelve years old and auditioned for a role on a show called Zoey 101 for the part of Lola. I was cast as a series regular on the second season. I knew my life was going to change in many ways, but I didn't know then that that role on Zoey 101 would lead me to almost eight years on `Nickelodeon' (all my teenage years). I remember Dan Schneider approaching me and my Mom about giving me the starring role of my own show. I remember discussing the premise of what the show would be, like it was yester...

If I were a boy

Dear Teacher, Thank you for your last letter. It was very interesting to read it, because I have never thought to that before and it made me to think that what would it be like, if for one day I were a man. I think that almost every girl have thought sometimes that boys are stupid and they doesn't understand girls. So if I were a boy for one day, I would give my best to be the perfect boy and would try to avoid the mistakes that I think mostly the boys do when they hurt a girl. But definately that day would help me see the world as the way boys see it. And I think that day would help me a lot in my following life because probably I would understand the life better beacause I could see it from different corners. If I could experience one day as a boy I think without doubt it would change many things and viewpoints of my life. Definitely I would like to have a day like this. And also I would like to know how and why did you start thinking...

Ghost Story

Ghost story A family of four moved to a little old cottage. They did not pay much attention to it because they thought it was just wind. A few weeks later, when they arrived home around 1 pm and found their dog, who almost never barked, barking and acting very strange. He was barking at their garage. The family at first thought it was a cat or some other small animal; the father turned his attention to the garage. The whole family then went to see what was going on, when they opened the old squeaking garage door; they saw an old lady who was sitting in a chair rocking back and forth very slowly. The father went to the car and directed the cars headlights towards the lady, they saw nothing, when he turned the lights out again, and the lady appeared. He did it again, same thing happened. The fam...

Capital Punishment should (not) be abolished

Capital Punishment should (not) be abolished Capital punishment has been an ancient way of punishment, which is thought to have started with blood feud and human sacrifices to gods. There are different points of views supporting or held against this sort of punishment. First of all, it is inhumane, primitive and brutal way of revenge, which is contradiction to the basic values of Christian Europe. What is more, it stands in the way of society progressing morally. With this sort of punishment county sets itself at the same level as the criminal and this may increase aggressiveness and lover the value of human life. People who support capital punishment have as good arguments as those who are against it. Capital punishment helps to preserve people's belief in justice and the power of law. It also may help preventing wild justice. For this kind of punishment is the fact that public opinion has always supported it...

Sisters

Sisters Creasha was sitting alone in her room. It was silence outside, yet she felt that something was wrong it was too quiet. Her older brother, Denis, had always said that too much silence was dangerous even for the hunter. That is what Denis was a bounty hunter. Creasha looked at the paleness of her sleeping twin sister Suzan and thought that it'll be six months soon as mom and dad left the country and their children to the Fate. Well, the reality wasn't so dramatic, since they were politics whom had to travel a lot. Creasha and Suzan weren't small any longer, 16 is almost as good as grown-up! But Denis never thought so; he still cared about his little sisters, as they were babies in his mind. A sudden voice broke the silence Creasha had almost fallen asleep in. Suzan opened her eyes as well and whispered," I've heard this sound before, it's dad's car." In a couple of minutes the tw...

Career Needs and Wants

Career Needs and Wants I´m still a student, but I have always thought about my future career , what it looks like. Every career is somehow interesting and awesome, but career shouldn´t be boring. So, I have thought what preferences my career needs. First thing I point out is good environment. Environment is important thing about career. Some people like working outside or in small town, but I like to work in a big city and in penthouse. In the big city I have more opportunities to have lunch with colleagues and entertain myself. The second thing I want to point out is stability. Stability is the second important thing. State companies are those, who have stable job, because country supports these companies and give the all the job. When you don´t have stable job, then maybe you don´t do your job correctly and you get fired. Then you have to search a new job. Anyway, I like the sta...

Belling The Cat (Inglisekeelne luuletus koos tõlkega)

BELLING THE CAT The Mice once called a meeting to decide on a plan to free themselves of their enemy, the Cat. At least they wished to find some way of knowing when she was coming, so they might have time to run away. Indeed, something had to be done, for they lived in such constant fear of her claws that they hardly dared stir from their dens by night or day. Many plans were discussed, but none of them was thought good enough. At last a very young Mouse got up and said: "I have a plan that seems very simple, but I know it will be successful. All we have to do is to hang a bell about the Cat's neck. When we hear the bell ringing we will know immediately that our enemy is coming." All the Mice were much surprised that they had not thought of such a plan before. But in the midst of the rejoicing over their good fortune, an old Mouse arose and said: "I will say that ...

Lufthansa Case

Angelina Kolesnik 114189 Lufthansa Case 1)I think that Herr Ruhnau decided to purchase the Boing jets at the right time. He couldn`t wait till the dollar/deuchemark exchange rate would drop. In addition he thought about safety of flights and wanted to renew company planes. We can also observe the given trend in movements of the dollar/deuchemark rate over previous 3 years. Trend tends upward, so the postponing the desision of purchase can bring company to a higher dollar exchange rate, that, as a result, will mean that expences will be substantially higher. 2)To leave the whole amount of exposure unhedged was too risky at that time. Idiom story

Sally woke up in the morning; she looked at the clock and realized that she has been late to the work. She shook a leg - took a shower, grabbed a sandwich, hopped into her car and drove away. Then she almost ran over a stranger man. She braked the car and blew the horn. Then she realized that it was Michael, a nice handsome guy from the beach party at last weekend. If it's not one thing, it's another. She stooped out of the car window to apologize. She had to hurry but wanted to be nice and polite. She said, "Sorry, Michael I didn't noticed you, are you okay?" "Yes, but I will be better if you'll come out with me tonight, would you?" asked Michael. "Sure!" "Well, then I'll come and pick you up at 7pm!" Then Sally drove away, thinking about what she had done. She promised yesterday to her 10-years old daughter that she will watch a movie with her and now Sally didn't know what to do, her agreeing was just a slip of the tongue. ...

Review: Educating Rita

Review: Educating Rita Educating Rita is one William Russell's best-known work. In 1980 it came out as a play, but in 1983 the play was adapted for film. This comedy has two main characters: the hairdresser Susan, who calls herself Rita and is played by Julie Walters and divorced constantly drunk Dr. Frank Bryant, who is played by Michael Caine. Educating Rita deals with relationships and changes. It also speaks about how different people find different things important. The film begins with Rita's arrival to the university, where she wants to discover herself and get educated before having children. There she also meets first time with her tutor Frank. Since the first time they meet, Rita knows that she wants Frank to be her tutor. Frank, however, finds that Rita is rare and unique. That is also the reason, why Frank did not want to teach Rita, he did not want her to change. Thanks to the efforts and sacrifices Rit...

The most important technological invention

The most important technological invention In my mind, the most important technological invention is the jet airliner, the Boeing 707- 120, which was invented in 1958. I concidered different inventions but thought, that the ability to move from one point to another in an innoventional and extremely quick way is worth the title. The four engine plane can carry up to 181 passengers and cruise at 600 mph for 5280 miles on a full tank. This has made continetial travelling extremely comfortable, as voyages that formerly took a couple of weeks can now be passed with only 1 day or even less. The first jet flight took off from New York and landed in Paris, soon after that there was a connection between Los Angeles and New York. I can only assume that the tickets had to cost a fortune in the beginning, but the time spared was and is still worth it, as the plane tickets do not even cost so much nowadays, it is perhaps the cheapest and the fast...

Why does Marx elevate proletariat? Do you see Wright doing the same? What do you think why?

Why does Marx elevate proletariat? Do you see Wright doing the same? What do you think why? In Karl Marx’s eyes, the society was divided into two classes – the bourgeoisie and the proletariat. He considered bourgeoisie to be the upper class and proletariat the lower class, also known as the working class, which he elevated and believed more in. On the other hand, a man named Erik Olin Wright had a different set of mind. Firstly, Karl Marx thought that proletariat was more powerful than bourgeoisie, because he believed, that if there would be a revolution one day, then it would be carried out by the proletariat. In work, Marx saw a form of human self-expression, which the capitalist mode of production did not allow to develop. He claimed, that the pressure would arise interest in economics and politcs among the proletariats so they could take over power, fight against the injustices the bour...

The Life-Changing Competition

A life-changing competition Finally, it was the 1st May the final day of the Youth Rock Competition. Many student bands from all over the country were preparing for the final battle. The Raven wasn't an exception. The vocalist, Daemon, practiced the guitar, while the others tried to calm down from the pressure that was thickening the air. Matrix, the guitarist, had taken his little sister with him. While he himself was practicing with the Ravens, Alice sat amongst the public. Suddenly, someone shook her hand. The girl turned and saw one extravagant-looking woman. "You are Alice Owen, right? The legendary Billy Owen' s youngest daughter?" Alice smiled and nodded. "Yet I don't believe my father is a legend." "Well, for me he's an idol! I've always dreamed about his live-concert! And, now, finally, I can hear his singing!" "He's just opening the competition..." But the woman seemed very happy, so Alice decid...

Bullying

Bullying I hadn't faced the real bullying, I think I have really carried only some smaller bullying casts. I don't even know what to talk about. But well, we all make mistakes, sometimes bigger and sometimes smaller. I'm going to talk about a short story about bullying in my childhood in my other school. We had a really great class and almost everybody held together. But like in almost every class, there is someone different from others and that may cause them problems with the other people. We had very many these classmates who were a little bit bullied and couldn't stand for themselves. There was a girl, who wasn't very thin and that's the main purpose she was bullied. She wasn't very rich also and she lived only with her mother. The boys of our class called her "fat" and so on. She did a face like she didn't care but I know that she really did and it hurt her. I and some other of my friends ...

Metallica concert review

Metallica concert review The concert I will be review about is Metallica.Specifically, the Metallica concert in Finland ,Helsinki- may 11,2018..Metallica performed 18 songs from the following albums: Kill ‘Em All (2), Ride the Lightning (3), Master of Puppets (2), …And Justice for All (1), Metallica (4), Reload (1), and Hardwired…To Self-Destruct (5).Metal music is powerful music, but what I mean here is that Metallica is powerful as a band. Their ability to emotionally connect with fans all over the world is indeed a powerful thing. Metallica has been a constant presence for 30+ years in pop culture.Metallica has influenced plenty of rock and metal artists these days, like Sepultura, KoRn, Slipknot, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, and avenged septuple. In a review of their concert, it was amazing. Their melodic touch to the “trashiness” was beautifully placed and gave their songs an edge over the others. For e...

Eclipse, Chapter Fourteen – Declaration

Chapter Fourteen Declaration Bella, Edward, and Alice are in the school cafeteria discussing their upcoming graduation party. Bella thinks the planned assault on the newborns makes a party inappropriate. Alice counters that they need time to get a few things in order before the battle, and commemorating Bella's first (and only human) high-school graduation is entirely appropriate. Edward informs Bella of Jasper's concern that they get help in their fight against the newborns. Jasper and Carlisle are trying to track down old friends to join the fight including Maria, but nobody wants to involve the southerners. Edward is convinced that someone will help them: no one wants a visit from the Volturi. Bella feels physically ill at the thought of the Cullens putting themselves in harm's way, and can't even consider the possibility that Edward might be hurt, or worse. Edward's confidence does nothing to quell the terror building inside he...

Dear listeners, most of us here today are soon going to make the biggest and most important step of our lives so far. We are going to start a completely new and different life after graduation. The emphasis therefore should be on the word "life". The real thing, it's coming, it's going to hit us and it's going to hit us hard. Nothing is going to be the same. Life will never ever be as simple, carefree and easygoing again. To me, the expression "life is hard" has never meant anything. I have always been more of a "life is beautiful"-type. I have never really thought that it actually is hard. Mostly because I have never thought what the real life is like. Ofcourse I have seen it, it's all around me, but only seeing and seeing plus thinking through what you see are two really different things. An example: have you ever been to a funeral of a collateral relative as a child? Do you remember what you felt? I remember I felt almost nothing ...
