saving peoples lifes, they need respect. I can only suppose what kind of hard work it really is. Maybe healty people dont value this job, but people who have been sick or take part in some accident, they know how needed occupation it is. Secondly it would be policeman profession. There is very much criminals, in Estonia, and in all world. But policemans trying take care of people safety. I think, if there is no policemans, in world, then it would be disaster. Third would be teacher occupation. We need smart peoples, for saving lifes in world. It is important to teach childs and give them education. Then we are growing up people, who could appreciate everything important (nature, education jmc.). Actually all professions are important. I can't prefer one job for other. Teele Ploompuu

Every year, the US Secretary of State sent greetings on the occasion to the Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to the United States, Ernst Jaakson. The Moon Is Down is a novella by John Steinbeck, an American author. The title refers to a nice phrase spoken by Banquo's son Fleance in Shakespeare's Macbeth. It was published in March of 1942. The story details a military occupation of a small town in Northern Europe by the army of an unnamed nation at war with England and Russia. A French language translation of the book was published illegally in Nazi-occupied France by Les Editions de Minuit, a French Resistance publishing house. Furthermore, numerous other editions were also secretly published across all of occupied Europe, including Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Dutch and Italian versions. It has appeared in at least 92 editions across the world Plot summary

Jaanipäev

Among Estonian fairy tales and literature there is the tale of two lovers, Koit and Hämarik .These two lovers see each other only once a year and exchange the briefest of kisses on the shortest night of the year. Earth-bound lovers go into the forest looking for the flower of the fern which is said to bloom only on that night. Also on this night, single people can follow a detailed set of instructions involving different flowers to see whom they are going to marry. During their occupation of Estonia, the Soviets made no attempt to stop Jaanipäev celebrations. For Estonians, however, Jaanipäev remained tied to Estonia's victory during the War of Independence and the securing of a free and independent state. Jaanipäev, therefore, always reminded Estonians of their independence in the past, despite Soviet attempts to eliminate such ideas. The tradition before the Soviet occupation, which has now been restored, was for a fire to be lit by the

Links between Estonia and English speaking countries

Soviet Union. After the war the military cooperation developed into cultural and economic relations. For instance during the time between the wars, approximately 30% of Estonia's exports went to the UK. The other big English speaking country, United States recognised the Republic of Estonia on 28 July 1922. The first Estonian diplomatic mission in the United States was opened in the same year. The Second World War and the occupation of Estonia resulted in loss of contacts. Most English speaking countries never recognized Estonia's annexation in 1940. During the years of Soviet occupation the embassy in the United States continued its activities from 1940 to 1991. The US government recognised Estonia's diplomatic mission as the legal representative of the Republic of Estonia. This recognition of the legal continuity of the Republic of Estonia is nowadays seen as one of the cornerstones of Estonian-US relations.

Level of education

turn of the century. A secondary education is by far the most popular level of education. This shows that it is a centric way to cover ground in life. A significant number of men have basic education. This implies that most men prefer not to pursue education. In case of women, they want to get a better education. This is demonstrated by the fact that only 18 % of women have basic education. A large proportion of women have chosen secondary vocational. This indicates that is chosen an occupation, which suggest a fixed income. A higher level of education is not certainly necessary. This is illustrated by the fact that about 6 % of people have elementary education. A small number of men and women have no schooling. This suggests that some people do not have opportunity to get an education. A substantial number of people have a university degree. This implies that education is valued and people achieve goals.

Tallinn

The first traces of human settlement found in Tallinn's city center by archeologists are about 5000 years old. In 1050 the first fortress was built on Tallinn Toompea.[3] In 1285 the city became the northernmost member of the Hanseatic League. Medieval Tallinn enjoyed a strategic position at the crossroads of trade between Western and Northern Europe and Russia. On 24 February 1918, the Independence Manifesto was proclaimed in Tallinn, followed by Imperial German occupation and a war of independence with Russia. On 2 February 1920, the Tartu Peace Treaty was signed with Soviet Russia, wherein Russia acknowledged the independence of the Estonian Republic. Tallinn became the capital of an independent Estonia. After World War II started, Estonia was occupied by the Soviet Union (USSR) in 1940, and later occupied by Nazi Germany from 1941–44. After Nazi retreat in 1944, it was occupied by the USSR again

levels were lower and Ireland, like Great Britain, formed part of continental Europe. By 16,000 BC, rising sea levels due to ice melting caused Ireland to become separated from Great Britain. Later, around 6000 BC, Great Britain itself became separated from continental Europe. The earliest evidence of human presence in Ireland is dated at 10,500 BC, demonstrated by a butchered bear bone found in a cave in County Clare. It is not until about 8000 BC, however, that more sustained occupation of the island has been shown, with evidence for Mesolithic communities around the island. These Mesolithic communities lived as hunter- gatherers across the island until about 4000 BC. Name · The name Ireland derives from Old Irish Eriu. This in turn comes from the Proto-Celtic Iveriu, which is also the source of Latin Hibernia. Iveriu derives from a root meaning 'fat, prosperous'. Economy · Despite the two jurisdictions using two

Having a job while studing

Having a job while studing In nowadays we can see that students main occupation is not only studing but working too. When is it necessary and is this a best decision? Is it good to have a job while studing? There is some plusses and minuses. I think that some people can not study without working. Example, when you are living in a country side and you do not have car, then you need to lease a flat. But when your parents are not supporting you or they do not have opportunities to do that, then you need your own money

Estonia

A high point of the Estonian national movement was the first nation-wide Song Festival in Tartu in June 1869. In 1918 on the 24th of February, the Estonian Republic was proclaimed. It is a highly important holiday in Estonia. At first it was merely a decision on paper. True independence was fought for in the following years, in the War of Liberation. Independence lasted until 1939 when a pact between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union was signed. Following the Soviet occupation in 1940, Estonia was occupied by Nazi Germany from 1942 to 1944. The Soviet Union incorporated Estonia in the autumn of 1944. A large proportion of the population fled abroad. Many others were arrested and deported to Siberia. Estonia regained independence by the way of the Singing Revolution of 1988 and has been fully independent since 1991. In 2004, Estonia became a NATO member state and an EU state. The legislative power in Estonia belongs to the Parliament (Riigikogu), which is elected for

Priorities of Estonian History

Historians must take a balanced look at all the sources, considering others' points of view. Indeed, this is essential to historiography in general, that historians remove themselves from their own passions and narrow outlooks to see things the way his or her subjects saw them, consider what biases he or she was subject to, what his or her motivations and aims were. In Estonian historiography, for example, records refer to Soviet control over Estonia as either "liberation" or occupation." As historians, it is our imperative duty to consider both sides, and in our writing to refer to this Soviet control as just that, Soviet control. Such a term lacks negative or positive connotations. In fact, it lacks connotations entirely. Another way historians might address this issue would be to say or write something like, 3 Siobhan Kattago, "Memory, Pluralism and the Agony of Politics," Journal of Baltic Studies, vol. 41, no. 3 (2010).

The Commonwealth of Australia

Australia has several different climatic regions, from warm to subtropical and tropical. There are five big cities in Australia: Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane. Each city is the capital of the state in which it is situated. Most of the factories are concentrated in or around the big cities. They produce goods for the motor-car, machine-building, clothing and food industries. Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth are the country's main ports. Agriculture is the main occupation in Australia. Wheat and sugar are the main agricultural crops, fruit-growing is also highly developed. Australia is famous for its sheep. The great sheep-farms, called sheep-stations are found in many parts of the country. Today there are about fifteen million people in Australia, most of them are of British origin. There are now only 40000 full aborigines in the country. The Commonwealth of Australia is a self-governing federal state. Formally the head of the state

Singing revolution

The Singing Revolution lasted over four years, with various protests and acts of defiance. Independence was declared on the late evening of August 20 in 1991. Soon, on 11 September 1988, a massive song festival, called "Song of Estonia", was held at the Tallinn Song Festival Ground. This time about 300,000 people came together, which was more than a quarter of all Estonians. Estonians sang national songs and hymns that were strictly forbidden during the years of the Soviet occupation, as Estonian rock musicians played. On that day political leaders were participating actively, and were for the first time insisting on the restoration of independence. Finally, the Soviet Union fell apart in 1991. I would say that this is the most glorious moment in the history of the Republic of Estonia, because not only Estonians but also other countries have a change to decide about our future by ourselves.
